As much as I loved living there in my 20s, I don’t miss it. It’s a good memory of my life and I’m happy where I am.
Commuting is a choice, living in base is also a choice. It just depends how much you can tolerate. Also, how long before you get a call from DL for a class?
Currently looking like another 1.5-2 years before I get a DL class according to what my mentor has been telling me...might also be a case to apply for AA/UA. I know guys getting hired there with about the same amount of SIC time I have now. 2 years of mainline seniority sounds significant but not sure if that's worth basing such a huge career choice on. Not hurting for money or anything now with the new regional pay rates and I enjoy living in base so there's really no big rush to leave.
