This. DL is great, but its definitely not worth commuting out of a UA/AA/WN base for the rest of your life (assuming both options are available, also assuming you don't want to leave ORD)
But, if you decide DL is the end goal for whatever reason, going through UA/AA/WN is a fantastic resume boost!

Dont hold out!! The best thing I did for my "forever home" legacy career path was saying "eff it" and going to a different legacy. And, even if my forever home hadn't called... commuting to a legacy was very gentlemanly compared to other flying jobs.
