This statement ignores the history of the regionals pre-COVID. Sudden dearth? No...nothing was sudden. Applicants at the regionals were dwindling 5-10 years prior to COVID (read: dogsh!t pay and compensation). While the problem was specific to the regionals, it was advertised as being industry-wide which was never the case.
