Before Covid, guys who retired could put out an FCIF that would allow them to say goodbye to the crew force. Some were mundane, others were quite entertaining.
Then they were "moved" to another page on PFC. Now, I wonder if they are even there anymore.
I miss those. Being a pilot is a weird career. You fly with a lot of people, but only become close friends with a few. When it is your turn to retire, likely you will never see any of these people ever again.
They say that men have fewer friends than women, but they need them just as much. Not being able to put out a "I'm retiring, here is my contact information" FCIF certainly does not help.
Like this guy, some civilian trained pilots resent the military guys. Perhaps it is because the military guys have a group of close friends they served with, mostly in combat in the last 20 years or so.
