Yeah good perspective it’s something I’m trying to start wrapping my head around. And yes glamorous is the wrong word im not looking for that either but to claim that this job is any better than the pax carriers is an egregious lie they have made it through some downturns less unscathed than the pax carriers it seems but are just as susceptible to downturns and corporate idiocy as we’re all seeing now. And if times are good at both I’ll take the day flying with hot meals in the terminal not 8pm 8am eating the $hit catering and snacks fx gives us without any access to a decent meal for the entire duty period.
Hey man just want to say it sounds like you fly domestic FedEx. I got lucky and was hired into an international airplane/base here a couple of years ago. I love this job. I highly recommend switching to the international side of things when you can. I can see how if my only perspective was doing the night Memphis stuff I'd be seriously considering leaving as well. The contract turmoil/DRIVE stuff would be the cherry on top of those considerations. I considered leaving as well. We will get a contract and there will be a time in the future that I'm glad I chose FedEx.
