It's not about that . Even thousands of Delta pilots commuting home from work get bumped ,or denied I should say , by other Delta non revs that are leisure traveling . Was just including Delta/9E together since both commute on each other's metal ,which Delta owns or pays the lease payments on the RJ's anyway.
if you want better priority commuting home, you should negotiate it in your next contract. Delta pilots already decided not to specifically negotiate for commuters when we didn’t push for positive space commuting in the most recent contract. For better or worse, commuting is your problem. If you choose to commute, you don’t get to bump someone else who is traveling for leisure.
In most industries you have to move to where you work, and if work closes your office you’re out of luck
