If you're unflagged, then you are considered a pirate and will be treated as such. I actually know a guy this happened to.

Of course if you're flagged then you're subject to the laws of the nation that the boat bears its flag.

Right..... go to Alaska or northern Canada and don't pay income taxes. They WILL come after you. Or try setting up an outpost where unlicensed substances are bought and sold out in the open, they WILL come after you. Or try to own full auto machine guns without the proper licensing, or operate a brothel, etc....

In the middle of nowhere you can get away with a lot, but if the government finds out, they WILL come after you.
