runway over runs happen every single year and the fact that we made it to March without a single plane in the mud is a testament to United’s pilots. Hell a couple years ago we were putting an aircraft in the mud monthly……and those were very experienced Captains.

Sashas letter was very vague and I think the MCO LEC took some extrem liberties in telling their members that there will be no more type ratings. Sashas letter could simply mean that 321 ETOPS is on hold or 777 ETOPS 240 for the South Atlantic for the Capetown flight is on hold. It could also mean that NEW APDs, PIs and LCPs will not be accepted until further notice.

i can tell you that we have APDs, LCPs and PIs that have no business being in those positions. The FAA sees that and as always gritted there teeth and accepted it because United is self certifying. This could be a good thing as now the FAA could come in and pull letters without ALPA protecting the bad apples……cull the herd and make us all stronger.

When GG went on his hiring binge of PIs, LCPs and Evaluators and made every single instructor and LCP a QC the FAA raised a ton of flags…..let’s see what they do

Let’s hope you’re right.
