When I got hired it was free travel anywhere I wanted to go anytime. 65-70% load factor. It was a huge bennefit. Now I have to spend $5K+ a year on travel for the fam.
Oh, things happen, times change, and you don't get what you once had? Who knew? You do get to constantly complain for the rest of your career though, right?
At least the money is better today ( thanks to crazy reactions to COVID ) . Back in the day when I was hired the airlines were declaring bankruptcy every 3 years it seemed and merger after merger screwing people out of everything they gained .
