That's my understanding also. The new 767s are not for additional routes. They are replacements for the DC-8s. I would not plan on getting a call from HR for a very long time.
Do you have anything official on the 76's replacing the 8? Everything I have seen is non committal to their purpose. At this point it appears logical, but more of result of the market than anything else.
