Good write up and agree with all of it except for the not getting used on SC part. In the old days it was quite rare to actually get tagged while sitting short call, I had one 5 year span where I only got used twice. However, due to their new incarnation as placeholders that has changed a bit. Roughly half of my SCs this year have had assignments added to them about 10-18 hrs out.
Interesting data point. My expericence has been different recently but I suppose that's somewhat to be expected in individual circumstances. There used to be some statistics published (by ALPA?) about domestic and International SC usage by %. Don't quote me, but I seem to remmeber that domestic was comfortably under 50%, and International was single digit %. Would be really intersting to see how/if that has changed, and whether putting more poeple on SC after C19 has diluted the percentages any. I guarantee the company has that number, just not sure if we can see it easily.
