Yes. And it went exactly as they had told the shareholders. As soon as JetBlue had the bigger shareholders salivating, Spirit was in for some hurt. But the shareholders are okay, because they had their ticking fees and other assurances. In it for the short term bucks, the shareholders risked a good airline for a long shot and a little bit of cash.
i still think there’s a path for survival for the airline currently know as Spirit, whether it be a merger (that doesn’t involve little Robin) or restructuring.
