I have a similar problem at my Doc's office. I believe that the eye test machine has not been maintained as it should. If for any reason you have a problem with the machine, you might request that the doc allow you to take the test using a wall card. Before your next physical, go to your doc and ask him if this is allowed. That might help. Of course if you really need glasses (i.e. can't read the wall chart either) you may want to bite the bullet and get that taken care of.
