I fear executive (and more broadly, managerial (manager/director)) talent is a major threat to this company in the coming decades if the HQ stays in Memphis. I can't imagine we're recruiting top tier folks today. Only in the airline will executives commute. What talented young MBA is going to want to bring their family to Memphis when they having compelling alternatives in other cities?
I wasn't in Memphis in the 70/80/90s but imagine it was easier to recruit back then.
