Yes, seniority for people hired between 2014 and 2021 is pretty historic but that also aligns perfectly with an historic retirement boom. Those hired at Delta today will not be seeing anything remotely resembling the seniority progression of those hired 5 years ago. So, just like you shouldn't base career projections based on those pilots hired at the beginning of a wave, you also shouldn't base career projections based on that relatively small percent of pilots that have had the worst progression due to their hire dates of 2000-2002. Sucks for them, but, they'll have had PLENTY of time to make up their "lost" pensions and have a comfortable, although not lucrative, retirement.
