I left NJA in 2017 (medical) but I think it's still the same. I worked the CC 72 for almost the entire 13 years I was there. CC72 means averaging 18 days per month over a 4 month period. They can borrow up to 2 days so you work 20 days one month and 16 the next month. You can ask for certain days off but that's it. You have very little control over what days you work. It sounds like you'd be much better off on the 7/7 or 8/6 where you can see what days you'll be working for several months out. The only time those fixed schedules change is for training events, they can adjust days worked to accomodate training.
