I really don't understand your sensitivity to this. I don't feel like he's defaming all service members. Did some lie - 100%. As I posted previously, hours of one of my retirement briefings was spent discussing VA percentages, what to claim, etc. - sleep apnea anyone..? I went through my retirement physical scared of something like this, so said I was great (due to ignorance of FAA med more than anything at the time). Did I have anything legit to claim? Anything in my history? Bulging discs due to xxx hours of NVGs off the top of my head. Haven't had a flair up in years, so said nothing. To this day - approaching a decade since retiring - I'll occasionally see posts from acquaintances about the latest burn pit memo, a cough they have, etc. Whatever...
People have legit injuries, service-related stuff, I don't think anyone is denying that. But some have also chosen to play both sides of the fence - claim and not report. Albeit a very small minority, someone $hits the bed and we all wear diapers. I'd never expect that from our bureaucracy. Save that anger for your brothers and sisters who never left the finance office in KU, or a staff job for 25 years and are broken down from their "service".
