Here's why this isn't a big deal: Let's say you're part of that SWA crew. You learn somebody went full idiot and notified the FAA about something you thought was within the realm of normal day-to-day corrections. You're still covered by SMS protections. File your ASAP. Let the various people go to work and while you sleep easy. A reactionary jumpseater isn't that big of a threat (unless they grab both fire handles and the APU fire switch as well). So this isn't really worth all the hubub, even if it's true.
That brings me to a second point. We don't know what's true or not. We get stories from parties looking to make themselves look good while the other looks bad. Don't be Juan Browne; know the facts. For now those facts are held by respective union committees and companies.
