I think the 8-D-1-e slots are all of the unfilleds on the final result.
The thing about the unfilled slots (I had a discussion via Help Hub with Manpower planning bc I was confused) is that the unfilled spots don't all have to be filled... It's at the company's discretion to fill or not fill them.
For example on this latest vacancy we had 20+ SFO 737CA slots released by new hires who got awarded those slots in BI... But the company chose not to award all of the possible CA slots to pilots who bid for those slots. In other words those slots are "available" to be awarded in the vacancy, but they aren't required to be awarded.
