The Mil guys in my class were very good at flying very cool and fast jets that I could only dream about. But, the folks who had years of regional/121 experience had to answer their questions like "What is a 'ramp'/'ground' frequency?", "What is so bad about EWR?", and "Why is ORD the way it is?"

It was fun helping out the guys around me with those goofy questions, we still answer their questions in the group chat we still have running today, and it helped bond us as a class by working as a team.

As a military pilot, I can relate to the above sentiments. It's not bashing; it just is what it is. I hope to have a lot of non-Mil in my class (whenever that happens) because I have a lot to learn about the 121 world. On that note... what is so bad about EWR? Also, if the long-term goal is to be on WB, what's the most appropriate choice(s) to make at the start of this new career? I don't really know where I want to live (family is from Upstate NY), but I do not want to commute unless I can be reasonably sure it won't be for more than ~ a year.
