I'd argue that we almost already have AA's pay groups. Just like AA's group III, the 757/767 is a rate in between NB and WB, and the 717/221 is less than NB, ie group I.
Obviously the 223 and airbus have different rates, but in the grand scheme of things we're pretty much already there.
I get what you are saying, I do. But I respectfully disagree. The only pay band here is WB. The fact that less than a few dollars/hour separate rates
within the same category, beliesan attitude by the company to take every place where they can. And the fact the 767-300 pays a NB rate is my closing argument.
I am unwilling to let the company off the hook by even lightheartedly talking about us having pay bands. Maybe next contract.
