At many airlines including Delta flying legs are supposed to be given to the least current pilots in the crew. As a Captain I often went several trips before I got a landing as the FO's were less current.
I think Delta is the exception, AA's system is more similar to UA's. No idea what Hawaiian or JB does. They're the only other two that fly augmented pax that I know of.
