Exactly! We do have a "spoilers deployed " or "no spoilers" call. As a 17 yr 767 CA, and ck Airman, on these last few hiring cycles we hired some extremely low time, low experience pilots. I rode through and experienced potentially horible landings. But the majority ended up being benign by manually deploying the spoiler on the first bounce.
The aircraft settles right back on the runway. I always told new Captains and new Ck Airman to be ready to grab the spoiler handle and yank it back.
