was in columbus the other day and met a bud who is a Citation X LCA for a tour of EJA....nice facility!...saw some of the airplanes in the hangar and met some schedulers...nice group of people...he loves the job and it seems to be a great place to be....the bad part for me is not knowing what u r doing day to day....he was headed out on a 7 day stretch and all he knew was he was deadheading to a city...who knows after that...and they don't have much of a retirement package...so as for leaving a major...to many variables...which airline?...seniority?..etc..etc
You can only use "retirement" as long as you have one. It looks like you work for a solid company that many, including me, would choose to work for if we could. I don't intend this to disparage you or your company this is more of a general statement for all and my own philosophy on fincance, but as Enron, MCI, United, etc. have all demonstrated in the last several years: The only person you should count on for your retirement is you.
