No sympathy for someone who would refuse to go in day before when an obvious storm is rolling g through the country and can’t get to work.

It's not at all like saying that. What you're saying is we should leave our homes an hour earlier than required because there might be a car accident along our route. Much like car accidents, weather and common commuting issues are unpredictable. This language should absolutely be removed from the next contract.

Even at the LCC I'm currently at if you miss your first option they'll consider replacing you with a reserve in base. And if you miss your second option it's no questions asked either they drop the trip entirely, put you on reserve for the following days, or give you a new trip in the same footprint.

Obviously there will be instances where the commuter policy is abused and those should be handled on a case by case basis. We are adults and should be treated as such.
