I wasn’t a commuter at NK, but commuting here versus NK takes more effort. Maybe it’s because I’m on probation, but I give myself 3 tries instead of 2. Just one of the things I have to do to make commuting work on year 1. I’m sure it gets better as time goes on, but NK really did have a better commuting policy. That said, you’re right. It’s no where near enough to make anyone stay. I’m definitely glad to be here.
Got a class date, live in UA base, might finally drive to work. Wish I tried 2 years ago, but after not gettting in between '05 till '14 had sort of given up. If they want 4 flights on probation I will give them that. And I also understand the probationary provision, sometimes people slip through that should not, and the union not having to protect those is not always bad. NK for over a decade, haven't missed a commute yet, will give myself way more options if I don't think I will get there. I guess I just prefer language that assumes I am a resposible adult that does not need supervision to do his job the right way....
