Let's clarify the situation. Management has opened several small satellite bases, shifted to a day-turn model, and offloaded per diem and hotel costs onto the pilots. This has uprooted many pilots from their homes, forcing them into long commutes across the country for day turns. On top of that, the company has shown no effort good faith bargaining towards an industry standard contract.
Now the union is offering to assist the company in managing the very issues caused by its own poor planning and mismanagement.
unless the solutions include TA our trip mix proposal language and/or other provisions in the proposal. That update was not worded particularly well imo. I agree with your sentiment from the wording. I want union leadership to have some input without handing over any potential leverage.
Keep in mind we’re building a case for release from mediation if there’s no movement over time.
