I don't think winning a few arbitrations counts is digging your heels in with the company, merely upholding the contract as is required. While, I don't believe MM is in the companies pocket. I also don't think you would see statements from the MEC chair from any of the mainline carriers. go on about how they're helping to solve company created issues.
Ther are always going things that come up everyday between the company and the union that need to be addressed to keep the machine moving and with this management team you're going to have to work to shove that train in a direction to keep it on track.
I think in time history will show that the time of dealing with Frankie/Biffle is as much of a benchmark moment as dealing with Richard Farris or even Lorenzo was in the 80s.
Frontier is currently flooded with new and uninitiated pilots who don't understand what we're dealing with and what it has taken to get to this point They are just excited that they're making more money than they ever have in their life and believe that things will continue to come to them just as easy as they have in the past.
Investor confidence is a part of the equation that can sway our management. If we call out what they are doing wrong it will drive them to make the changes to make it right. If we do not call it out then they will continue down the road that they are on.
This is why we set up picketing events.
This is an important role of the union as they can call these things out without reparations being made upon specific pilots.
I don't believe that the union should torpedo the company, but they need to point out when things are not being done correctly
