I’ve been in the industry for 24 years. Cockpit was a frowned upon term when I started. You’re a bit late to the outrage party. I also think flight deck sounds stupid like it’s the top of an aircraft carrier or something. In my opinion it should have been called the poste de pilotage or something to align with the other French based terms for aircraft sections.
