Whatever impact Ed’s comments had on the situation, folks need to know that there were literally something like 5 remaining open times in 2 sections of the contract. Allllll the rest of the gains had already been TA’d. Playing off Ed’s mouth as somehow being responsible for DL’s gains is a huge disservice to DL’s negotiating committee absolutely rocking the company. Those 4 guys’ preparation and incredible hard work got us our contract, not Ed.

Frankly, the only thing I think Ed’s comments actually impacted was the timing, and not so much on the top line number…. Our pilot group was very engaged and motivated for the long haul if needed.

We can talk about how it could have gone differently another day, but the negotiating committee, MEC/Rep quality, and pilot group resolve are critical to gains.
