They cleared up inconsistencies in the language.
A check airmen that can’t perform half the duties is hardly worth the trouble:
  • initial linecheck
  • newhire IOE
  • requalify linecheck
  • you can’t fail a linecheck on the outbound as you’ve got no one qualified to fly the plane back.
