I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Unimatic, and you curse FOs that text. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That not briefing in Ops, while tragic, probably saves time. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves time. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about on APC, you want me in that jet, you need me in that jet. We use words like ZFW, MTOG, CF, UNSBL, REMF, ACF90, ETOPS, CI, RDSP, WSI, JeppFD, WX, GPS, SLOP, HF, CP1, CP2, CP3. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent briefing something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very flight that I brief, then questions the manner in which I brief it.
