I choose to commute for various reasons and like others have said, you find your niche. I have a trip coming up that starts with a deadhead to HNL and ends with a commercial home from Sydney. My commute to my SDF deadhead is on a UPS airplane an hour from my house. Obviously this schedule takes some seniority to hold but if you don’t want to live in SDF, this isn’t too shabby. I wouldn’t say having to live in domicile is required to have a good QOL. It just may take some time to get to that seniority, but if you live in domicile, you can have that QOL sooner.
