FAA can either re-open cases unilaterally, or direct AMEs to scrutinize applicants more carefully.
If you have anything like that in your file, and the AME asks about how things are going, are you busy, are you stressed... be careful what you say. They might not just be making small talk.
Speaking of mushrooms; treat your AMEs like mushrooms (keep them in the dark and feed them crap) for this very reason. No matter how much the FAA has “evolved” to handle mental health issues, they are still in the 1950s and not to be trusted.
