As long as we're ragging on ltd, I'll add one. Your benefit is based on the average monthly pay for the last 3 months you worked. So if you had some bad months, you know... maybe for whatever reason caused you to go on ltd, you then get 60% of that. Really easy to get screwed, especially when you consider how long the FAA can take to get you back to work. Dont even get me started on the medication list. I've heard of guys who were diagnosed with a condition that is completely managed by medication with no side effects, but isnt approved by the faa. Their only chance to fly again is to get the doctor to say they were misdiagnosed or, if the diagnosis isnt disqualifying, say that they are stable without the medication and pray that the FAA grants a special issuance.
