Meet & Greet events in a conference, are they just information sessions or helpful to your application process. What exactly happens? I am thinking of going to the OBAP in Aug but live in Europe and wondering if it is worth it ? I have application in with United hoping for some insight for those who attended one of these.

They supposedly postively influence the visibility of your app to the recruiters. I'm not sure to what extent they do this, or how many notional points you receive if you have a good interaction with the folks there.
That being said, I have several friends who went to career fairs like NGPA, OBAP, etc. and got the call from UAL, and others who were higher qualified on paper who blew it off and didn't get a call.
All of this is anecdotal, of course, but I would highly recommend going to OBAP, especially in a slowing hiring environment.
