This type of behavior is certainly not unique to Envoy. We joke that airlines hire until they furlough but there is a strong element of truth to the aphorism. It would be nice if hiring departments would at least abstain from this behavior within the traditional two weeks notice window. Many a pilot has found herself without a chair when the music stops due to having a class cancelled at the last minute and being unable to return to his prior job. I hope that isn't the case for this poster.

The United and Delta pilots remain adamant that they will continue hiring full bore next year. I have reasons to doubt that but if true it stands to reason that American will hire as well. Big 3 hiring, in that case, should create enough attrition at Envoy to necessitate classes. I would expect preference to be given to cadets regardless if it's legally required or not since not doing so would diminish the value of the program.
