For better or worse, gravy trains have been ubiquitous over the last several years and that has normalized some eye-watering pay and qol. My experience looks nothing like my predecessors who waited decades to upgrade to NB plug, never saw WBA and for whom sitting reserve was a curse.
Everyone who has been here a few years should take a good look in the Widget Seniority mirror…how many categories are you NOT in that could afford you all the SS you could gobble up?
This!!!!!
I took the upgrade because I wanted to work less for the same money I was doing as a senior FO. I’m happy with my 63-65hr line. Every now and then I might pick a GS if it fits my family.
But people here wasting time with their family for thousand of dollars and complaining because they can’t pick SS/GS is out of my mental capacity.
Specially those hired after 2021…need to take a break and get used to it. Things will be slowing down, movement will be slower the next couple of years and we might not have the same opportunities. Take a deep breath and relax…this is a marathon. We need to take care of ourselves and our family.
What is money if we can’t enjoy it with them or if we are dead?
