If AS ordered 787s, those new planes would not be considered in an SLI. Only the snapshot the date the merger closes is the ones that matters. Yes, any 787s ordered after the MCD (Merger Completion Date) which is generally when the operating certificates are merged would not be fenced not considered in SLI Status and Category.

United's MCD was October 2010 but the SLI wasn't until September 2013.
