Dont agree with this. The MEC has worked deals with other airlines for pref interviews for the furloughed pilots. Specifically mentioned are 2 regional airlines, one giving longevity credit and 1 offering street CA positions with a $200k sign on bonus. In addition, a few more airlines are listed with pref interviewing for our pilots. This is much better than what many of us saw in 2008.
I mentioned to one soon to be furloughed FO that read there are street CA positions available at some regionals and his response was “yeah, but I don’t like those bases.”🙄
I think many are looking for a lateral move to an Airbus/737 and that’s mainly fantasy land unless you want to work overseas or some funky Miami based operator. In the end, they are low time and low experience, welcome to the airlines
