The old guys who have since retired from DAL and others, gotta be doing this just for kicks and the love, and honestly, my interactions have been nothing short of phoenominal with them. I agree with everything you said. But by allowing it, we allow the company to get rid of pilot jobs, and for much cheaper.
And I have heard the job cutting is more fleet specific, and also an overall cut for training requirements not that we aren’t hiring 2500/yr. Line looking at the AEs and the lack of NB CA awards and normalized hiring numbers. Last time I was at CQ, one of the SLIs said they had done more line flying than instructing over the last year.
