I did not even start on code sharing. Book a Delta ticket between US and Paris or Incheon. Bet you half of the choices are on Air France or Korean.
I would fly a caravan around if they paid me enough. Since when does a pilot group tell a company what kind of planes to buy and fly? Never! So telling the company to fly 757 around with 20% loads or telling them they need to buy 737's so we can fly them is never going to happen.
You should tell them we want to fly 747-8 like UPS or maybe pick up some 777-300ER and convert them. I am sure they want to hear your opinion since your are a great key board warrior with incredible business skills.
Respectfully, you are way out of touch. For as bad as you think passenger scope is, ours is maganatude worse. As for telling management what airplane we fly, we TELL them in section one. If you read it, you'll see that they are required to put FDX MSL pilots in any aircraft weighing more than 60k domestically. Yes, we TOLD them to do that. Just like we can TELL them to do the same internationally. If you don't get that, you simply don't understand how scope works. Of course its through negotiations but its the same as telling them nonetheless once its ratified.
Please, let those of us who are trying to save this company from becoming the next DHL fight for scope while you stay on the sidelines. That's as nicely as I can put it.
