Looks like they had smoke in the cockpit. Passengers reported cabin was fine. Smoke and fire checklist would account for comm and transponder issues if you were not 100% familiar with audio panel which on the Airbus can be confusing. Landing was reported to be extremily hard by passengers which might account for blown tires.
