The FAs are their own worst enemy. We had an hour bus ride to the airport the other day, dozen or so FAs. We (pilots) asked them what it is they’re looking for in a contract and it was like rolling a grenade into a room. They went at EACH OTHER for the rest of the bus ride. For a solid hour they all told each other why what they wanted was the most important and why what everyone else wants is dumb. They are so fractured, I have no idea how you’re supposed to negotiate for a group who can’t even agree amongst themselves.
It's also amazing how many of them have no clue regarding how the process works. I had a couple recently tell me how they're going to "do chaos" if they don't get a contract soon. They didn't want to hear that any type of organized job action required that they be released into self help. After explaining how the process works they were mad at me and not the process.
