NetJets operates all flights under 135 as 91K is more restrictive in regards to duty. The way FlexJet gets to do 16 hour duty days is the last 2 hours can be a 91 repor as this is not regulated. At NetJets, our CBA limits us to 14 hours and with the non-large cabin fleets that get 30 minutes postflight, we can pull the plug if we don't land at 13 hours 30 minutes. However, this has not prevented the company from asking us to go over, and with overtime after 12 hours, some pilots will gladly do this
I've been at Flex for six years and have never done a 16 hour duty day. I've done a few 14 hour duty days because of ATC or weather circumstances that paid double overtime. I've been asked once if i was willing to go to 16 hours, but rejected it. No repercussions whatsoever. Contrary to rumors you may have heard, they don't constantly push us beyond 12 hours. Most days are shorter than that.
