This is an interesting issue, because this might be something worth considering. Change never comes without sacrifice, but, this might just be the change that we need.
One seniority list with the three companies will allow SKYW (SKYW, ASA, XJT) pilots to move around the company at their leisure. Opening up many new bases, different aircraft and so on. All while maintaining a uniform QOL, pay, and so on. Would be really nice...now that is in a perfect world.
I think XJT pilots want to be XJT pilots, doing our thing. We dont want SKYW bases or airplanes, we want ours. But with this acquisition, as it seems just a matter of time now, we could make real change in how pilots work and advance their careers.
I know alot of guys get defensive with this kind of stuff.....but most of the time things work out. Merging the seniority lists, with mechanisms in place to protect a pilots base sen etc, would not be a bad thing in my opinion. It could be done with or without ALPA.
But there is something very interesting here, and I know SKYW has NOT done this on purpose. But by having now a third separate pilot group, it makes a Whipsaw seem much much much more possible. I dont think alot of XJT guys are going to sign off on that.
