I've flown both IAN and LNAV/VNAV in hot weather in the 737 and IAN brings you in often with 4 white on the VASI/PAPI. Several pilots have made similar complaints and FOQA Data shows increase in long landings with IAN.
Also a dive into the FCTM shows further detail about the differences between IAN and LNAV/VNAV vertical path construction that includes a warning about IAN GP in hot weather with no such warning for LNAV/VNAV

Spend some time digging into VNAV paths. The issue you are describing isnt caused by IAN, it's the altimeter. LAVS to the feather on an ILS on hot days can make it very difficult to get the GS, demoed in the 200s.
