As for their mgmt, anyone that can lose $189m in Q3, in this environment probably shouldn’t even be running Spirit. Their “plan” seems to be shrink to profitability. Genius, where have we seen that before?
As for UA/DL, sorry but UA will never be as profitable based purely on operating expenses alone. One example, They run the tables in ATL, and dictate terms, landing fees etc. In EWR, UA is the port authorities *****/ATM.

I am not discussing APA matters. I am talking strictly about AA management team that have mismanaged that airline for decades……
A new management team with a vision similar to like SK/Oscar who can get all of AA employees working towards achieving that vision will turn that airline around…. That is my point, APA is a different discussion…
