For those of you who are very new to the airline world, you should read up on what happened to your fellow Teamster pilots at Atlas Air during their last negotiations (which by the way, their “experts” are the same two “experts” GU hired to get ours done). It is extremely likely that right now, GU is crying in DC, begging to not be placed on ice by the NMB. If you think it’s going to be contract 2024– you’re wrong. If you think it’s going to be contract 2025– you’re wrong. If you think it’s going to be contract 2026– we might be getting dates at the table by then. Our next CBA will most likely be handed to us via binding arbitration.

A few points:

-Viva will likely be approved under the DJT admin during Q1 2025. Expect to see heavy Allegiant growth using their pilots on viva routes (remember, cabotage prevents DSM-PIE but not PIE-CUN). Our current CBA kills us on this.

-DJT NMB will not be releasing any airline work group. There is a heavy focus on corporate improvement, it will not benefit Allegiant to see pilots strike.

-The strike vote publicity will not help. Allegiant has already shown their argument is to tell the public that they offered 50-70% hourly compensation raises in addition to other improvements. The public already thinks we’re rich, they won’t have any pity for us.

-If you’re young and single, jump to the first major that will take you.

-If Allegiant is where you’re staying, buckle up. It’s going to be a ride.
