Recently completed an aviation master's through VRE with an eye towards working as a professor in a collegiate program after retiring from the G. Never got a CFI and was hoping to include it, but two sucessive VRE counselors shot it down.

There is a collegiate 141 program near me, and that seemed promising at first - take the college CFI classes. However, they are undergraduate classes, and I couldn't get them approved for graduate credit. VRE won't pay for an audited class, so no go.

If you are learning at the BA/BS level, it would probably get approved though.
